In April of 1923, upon emerging from the clubhouse and taking the field at Yankee Stadium for the first time, Babe Ruth proclaimed, "This is some ballyard!" On September 21, 2008 the "Cathedral of Baseball" closed its doors forever, making way for a new stadium across River Avenue. This is my photographic tribute to Yankee Stadium.
