I took the following photographs at the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, New York. "Founded in 1999, the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC) in South Salem, NY promotes wolf conservation by teaching about wolves, their relationship to the environment, and the human role in protecting their future. The WCC accomplishes this mission through onsite and offsite education programs. These programs emphasize wolf biology, the ecological benefits of wolves and other large predators, and the current status of wolf recovery in the US. The WCC also participates in the Species Survival Plan (SSP) and Recovery Plan for the highly endangered Mexican gray wolf. To schedule a visit to the center or to arrange for an offsite Ambassador wolf program go to www.nywolf.org, or call 914 763-2373". The wolves at the Center are Gray Wolves. "Lukas" and "Kaila" are of the subspecies Mackenzie Wolf. "Atka" is an Arctic Wolf. "Apache" is a mix of the two.The Center is also home to several Mexican Wolves as part of the Species Survival Plan for this highly endangered subspecies. The file size of all the photographs has been greatly reduced for faster webpage loading. The original files show much finer detail and it is from these original files that your photograph will be printed. For information on purchasing photographs click here. ![]() |
