The most commanding feature, Mount Washington, at 6,288 feet, is the highest peak in the northeastern United States. 48 of the peaks in the White Mountains rise to 4,000 feet or more and I have been fortunate to hike them all.      The file size of all the photographs has been greatly reduced for faster webpage loading.
