Most of the astronomy photographs were taken with an Olympus OM-1 camera attached to a Celestron 5-inch telescope. The deep sky objects such as the Orion Nebula were taken at prime focus with an exposure of approximately 30 minutes. I used the eyepiece projection method for Saturn and the closeups of the moon with 1 to 3 second exposure times. Most of the comet photographs were taken with a 35mm camera and a 28mm or 50mm lens on a tripod. Exposures ranged from 30 to 45 seconds. Tri-X film was used for all of the photographs. Please take note that many of the photographs on this page were taken in the "dark ages" of astrophotography. This was before computer guided telescopes and digital cameras. The photographs on this page are not for sale. ![]()
